IR & UV
We offer IR and UV documentary photography, which is indispensable for restoration and art-conservation. IR (Infrared) and UV (Ultraviolet) photography enable the transfer of information that is unperceivable to the human eye. UV and IR electromagnetic radiation, which the camera registers by applying specific methods of lighting, use of filters or highly sensitive sensors, penetrates deep into the substance and reveals its stratification proportionally to the reflection/absorption of radiation in the pigments. For these reasons, UV and IR photography are indispensable assets for primary analytical restoration examinations, both surface (UV photography) and deep (IR photography) ones. Owing to its features of registering the reflection of thermal radiation, IR photography has been applied in science for a number of years, such as in astronomy, geology, medicine and forensics. Apart from being used in the applied photography, IR photography has a significant share in art photography, and on the principles of which certain photographers have developed their artistic style, approaching in their use of effects the surrealistic and metaphysical painting.
